OxleyCare was set up over 23 years ago by Valerie Oxley. Since then, it has retained its unique identity of being a small, family-run live-in care agency catering for the needs of the upper echelons of British society. In 2000 Valerie became aware, through her own experience and her extensive network of contacts, that there was a need for a specialist, top end, live-in care agency. She had clients waiting for carers before the first brochure was even written and subsequently launched.
Over the years OxleyCare has looked after Celebrities, Peers of the Realm, Ladies in Waiting and even a former Prime Minister. In fact, politicians of all parties were so grateful for the care given to one former prime minister that both Tony Blair and Michael Howard recorded their thanks to OxleyCare in the veritable Hansard*. OxleyCare is probably unique in this honour.
Today after nearly a quarter of a century Valerie has decide to step back a little and has brought her daughter, Susannah, on board to help her carry on the business.
“Over the years I was continually encouraged to grow OxleyCare into a bigger business, but I always resisted because I feared that we would lose our ethos and uniqueness. Instead, I have managed to maintain a small boutique specialist live-in care agency catering for the most discerning of clients.
“I am confident that Susannah will be able to embrace the many changes happening to the care industry in this changing world whilst retaining our unique ethos”.
OxleyCare will be celebrating a quarter of a century of providing high end care in 2025.
* Hansard is an edited verbatim record of what was said in Parliament. It also includes records of votes and written ministerial statements.
