Dignity and compassion
Offering comfort and care
Palliative care is also known as terminal care or end of life care. OxleyCare excels at offering comfort and care during what can be a very difficult time for the client and their family. We focus on ensuring that you or your loved one have the best quality of life, based upon your wishes, and that you remain comfortable and content during your final days at home.
Dignity, compassion, respect and sensitivity are foremost in our carers’ actions, while at the same time they are mindful of the client’s medical needs.
What does palliative care involve?
Palliative care at home will always be tailored to the individual, their needs and wishes. You can expect dedicated support from an experienced, trained and compassionate carer, as well as symptom relief whenever it is needed, to keep them as comfortable and pain-free as possible.
Live-in palliative care means that they can stay comfortable and content around the clock, with medical and other needs attended to during the day and night.
It also means remaining at home in a calm, secure and loving environment, surrounded by special belongings and chosen people.
Care of this kind will often include personal care, cooking and basic cleaning, pain management for physical and neurological symptoms, as well as companionship.
How can palliative care at home help families?
Having a live-in carer delivering dedicated support can be of great help and comfort to friends and family members.
Palliative care should involve sensitive and clear communication, involving the person receiving the care as well as their chosen friends and family. Knowing that your loved one’s needs and wishes are being met with compassion and expertise means a family can focus on being together, sharing memories and reflecting on a life.
Secure and loving atmosphere
Reflect and communicate
The importance of enabling clients who are receiving end of life care to be able to reflect and communicate while staying in the comfort of their own familiar surroundings is recognised as having many benefits. Many of our carers have told us what a privilege it is to be with a client and their family at this time.
Our carers will work closely with the Palliative Care or Hospice Team in providing a secure and loving atmosphere for the whole family.
